Biography

Hester Maria was born on the 9 Mar 1801 and baptized on the 10 or 15 March 1801 in Graaff-Reinet. Hester married Johannes Hendrik Robbertse on the 8 Mar 1818. She is the daughter of Cornelis van Niekerk and Hester Pienaar. ^[1]

She was the daughter of Cornelis van Niekerk and Hester Maria Pienaar. She passed away in 1826.

I have posted all I have to base this on under "Research Notes" for Robbertse-118, and would like your opinion on whether I am misguided to assume that Jan in the baptism, and Johannes in the marriage are the same person. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a probate record for Jan / Johannes Robbertse which could positively link him to his wife, daughter, and the date of baptism.
